Smack Down vs. Raw 2008

Initially I felt the urge within to rush to Gypsy to get my copy of SDvR, but later on the urge subsided along with the enthu to play the game itself, just like any other Smack Down series.
The game is addictive for the most part of it, but certain subtle flaws make it look just like the old ones. One of the problems which we face everyday in PS is scene glitches (the Irish Whip glitch mainly), not fixed, which every one would feel not to be present in the latest installment. As far as the gameplay is concerned, GM mode which has an extensive story line is real fun, however 24/7 mode disappoints. The major disappointment is that, you cannot have a GM Mode and a Superstar mode at the simultaneously, since we would like to play on the GM mode one day, and the Superstar mode another day.

The game also has all the basic matches, including 'Hell in a Cell' and the rest, but there are no 'new' matches, it would have been nice if THQ put in a Lumberjack match or even an Inferno match. You will get bored of the same matches eventually. Another thing that bothers me is the graphics. Overall, it's good, but The Great Khali and Mark Henry look AWFUL. John Cena looks the same from 2007 and 2006, and Triple H's pecs weren't right, although the graphics amazed me in the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 version.

The game also uses new controls and I feel it is a great improvement to the other games, and it has updated rosters, including the Hardys and Cryme Tyme, and the new look of the shop is great, but other than that, it is the same game as WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2007, big disappointment to fans like me.

The final verdict goes as : You get pissed off, if you had played the previous versions of Smack Down, for there is no change in the contents . It is a thrilling for noobies who'll love it.

Graphics - Big 8/10
Sound - Good 7/10
Game play - Decent 6/10
Value - Good 7/10
